Caleb I think that all of the memorable moments of this movie were made that much better by this soundtrack. But you could say that about a lot of movies. I think this soundtrack in particular often contributed just as much to the best scenes of the movie as the action did. I can't imagine watching Columbus without it. Favorite track: Pei.

blackknight75 Warnecke... just do it. This is one of the greatest scores I have ever heard. Incredible album from start to finish. Absence and presence! Favorite track: Warnecke.

Geordon Sauppe The film is fantastic, though only a few tracks actually seemed to have made it to the final cut. A shame, really, as this soundtrack simply captures the film's theme with tremendous accuracy. Pain, love, weariness, determination, fear, hope: framing an instance of life and pausing to appreciate it, even through the troubled times in which we find ourselves. Favorite track: Meier.

about

Hammock’s original score for Kogonada’s award-winning film starring John Cho, Haley Lu Richardson, and Parker Posey. “Columbus” features world-renowned architecture from Columbus, Indiana, alongside a deeply intellectual storyline about family and parental relationships. Kogonada sought out Hammock to create the soundtrack after reading an interview with the band. “They were talking about the relationship between absence and presence in their music – which was a mind-blowing moment – and I thought, ‘They have to be the music for this film.’” The movie has been praised by The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Washington Post, The New Yorker, and Variety, and it has a Metacritic score of 89 out of 100, based on 25 critics, indicating “universal acclaim”, and a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
